Pear and Almond Soup
Pears and almonds both help soothe a dry scratchy throat, and prevent the dry cough that often shows up as the seasons change. This recipe is also great for an easy dessert.

15 ripe pears
14 handfuls of almonds (chopped)
12 qts water
fresh mint leaves

Cut pears in half and remove the stem an seeds. Chop into small pieces. Combine pears, almonds, and water in a medium sized saucepan. Bring to a boil. Turn down heat and simmer on low for 10-15 minutes. Add honey and mint to taste. Drink 1-2 cups a day to enhance lung function and prevent cough.
